Saturday morning, we played a bingo game that included trivia about Grandma and Grandpa Palmer throughout their lives. For lunch, we did a Hobo Hike in which we were grouped into "teams" and walked to different stations where we picked up a piece of our lunch each place. Everyone carried a long stick with a handkerchief tied to the end to carry lunch in. The kids had a really good time with this!
Hayden is all ready to go!! |
Emily, Lily Smithson, Brooklyn These three always hang out together at Palmer family get togethers~ |
We had the rest of the day to socialize. The boys ran off down to the creek to catch crawdads and get dirty.
And boy did this little girl love being outside!!
The humidity in the air made her hair extra curly!
Little family picture with Grandma & Grandpa Palmer
We came home from the cabin Sunday evening so we could enjoy our holiday off together as a family. Matt took Blake and Gavin dove hunting early Monday morning with a few other dads and boys from the ward. Matt shot the birds while the boys were little retrievers. I think Gavin had the time of his life while Blake was a little traumatized by the whole thing. I think it's gross, but as a mom of boys, one thing I have learned is boys = gross!!
That afternoon, we took the kids to see the new Percy Jackson movie. We own every Percy Jackson book (several series') Blake has read EVERY one, some of them numerous times! He had been DYING to see the movie!! I happened to win this Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters prize pack from the movie theater and it included this ADULT large Camp Halfblood t-shirt, but Blake didn't care the shirt hit his knees, that thing is HIS and he proudly wore it to the theater that day!
