Ward Christmas party

Sister Ashcroft (and her crew) does it again!  She does such an incredible job of transforming the stake center into something magical!

Brandon Theabold cooked dinner in these Dutch ovens that he MADE.   Meat, potatoes, salad, rolls and amazing dessert!

We had the traditional nativity story, then the Primary sang our medley of When Joseph Went to Bethlehem, Away in a Manger and Silent Night.

Of course, we had a visit from jolly old St. Nick!
Everybody got a chance to whisper their Christmas wishes into his ear.

Concerts and Recitals galore!!!

In one week, we had Blake's band concert, Gavin's orchestra concert and Brooklyn's dance concert (on the same night!!), piano recital AND Hayden's ballet recital!!  Then the following week, Brooklyn had her choir concert.  WHEW!!!

First up, Blake.  I was lamenting over the fact that we had to spend $$ on a full tuxedo for TWO performances, but gosh, look how handsome he is!!  He is the only clarinet in the concert band.

Like I mentioned, Gavin's very first orchestra concert and Brooklyn's dance performance were on the same night.  It kills me to miss any of my kids' anythings!  It was important that I be at Gavin's concert so I just had to do the best I could to catch what I could of Brooklyn's.  Gavin has really liked playing the viola.  I'm hoping it's something he sticks with for a very long time!  During the singing portion of Gavin's performance, he winked at me and I just about died of cuteness!!!  And the bow tie???  Ahhhh!

I grabbed Gavin and bolted over to Brooklyn's concert, making it just in time for her second dance.  She's really enjoyed being able to take dance at school.  You can tell by watching her face that she loves dancing!

This was Preston's first piano recital!  I even got to play a duet with him on Jingle Bells!

A few pre-recital pics~~ adorable Christmas tree costume!  Hayden loved the little golden gloves!
Our little neighbor girl, Reagan
For their first number, they danced to Frosty the Snowman.  I could barely see Hayden at all, since she was in the back row and is one of the smallest girls. :(  Their second dance was to Wonderful Christmas Time.
Sophie!!
Hayden's ballet teacher, Sister Jones
Hayden doesn't mind all the attention ONE BIT!  I think she said something along the lines of "Don't forget to get me flowers!" haha

Choir concert #2 for Brooklyn.  They did a great mix of fun and sacred music.  Brooklyn really loves participating in choir!
It hard to see her, but Brooklyn is above the piano

Hayden is FOUR!!

My baby is FOUR.  I'm pretty sure that if I blink one more time, she'll be 16.  As much as I like having babies, I'm not really sad another year has gone by because this is SUCH a fun age!  The things she says are hilarious, she's 1000% girly and she puts up with a lot from her big brothers!  I'm guilty of carrying her EVERYWHERE still.  She is extremely attached to her pink blankie and her sucker finger.

We invited family over to celebrate.  All ready for birthday gifts!
Just a throwback to Hayden's first birthday when she got her pink chair.  Look how little!!
My Little Ponies galore!!  Her favorite was the pony that rides on a remote control scooter from Uncle Taylor and Aunt Becky!
We got her a balance bike.  These are the newest thing, supposed to help kids ride a two-wheel bike sooner by mastering the sense of balance before adding the pedaling component.
When I asked Hayden what kind of cake she wanted, she insisted on a rainbow cake so we went with that.  A gigantic, layered rainbow cake!
Facetiming singing "Happy Birthday" with grandma & grandpa Hamilton
So pretty!

Happy birthday, pretty girl!  We love you so much and are so glad you're a part of our family!

Palmer Nativity ⭐

This little one was SO excited that she got to be Mary this year!!  And Preston was her Joseph!
I'd say this is a pretty accurate portrayal of how the nativity program with the kids goes!
All the AZ cousins!  Just missing JJ & Kimberly's boys in Ohio!
This is a wonderful tradition that we participate in leading up to Christmas as a reminder of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The kids were also introduced to some long-time Palmer family traditions, the Dumb baby and the Dancing Doll.  I hope the kids have good memories of these holiday traditions as they continue to get older and start their own family traditions someday!
