Fall Break ~ UTAH!! {zions natl park}

Wednesday evening, we got to our lodging at Zion Mountain Ranch pretty late.  We tried waiting to get dinner at the ($$$) restaurant there, but it was taking too long so we packed up and drove to the Thunderbird Restaurant right at the Mt. Carmel junction.  They were very attentive to our family with great customer service!  Once we had full bellies, we headed back to our charming little cabin and got settled for the night.
Our view out the front window the next morning!  Buffalo!

We packed up our things and headed out to explore Zion's National Park!  Thanks to Gavin's pass, we were able to get in free!  We drove through the park until we came to a little trail that wouldn't be too difficult for our family to hike.  The kids did SUCH a good job hiking!  Someone is always designated as the leader and I usually bring up the rear.  We like to play silly little games, like the Disney alphabet game, where we have to think of a character name all the way from A-Z.  They look out for each other and are learning proper trail etiquette.

Snack time --- first time trying Nutella, they loved it!

The sky was a perfect blue as we drove through the rest of the park.  The steep cliffs rising on both sides!  "I'm glad that I live in this beautiful world, Heavenly Father created for me!"
 It was quite a warm day so ice cream was the perfect treat to finish up!
 The kids' souvenir - flat pennies!  Can't say no to 51 cents!
I think they were sufficiently worn out, which made for a quiet drive to Cedar City!

Since the kids were sleeping, we stopped by the site of the new Cedar City temple.  How exciting for the people that live there to finally have one in their midst!  I always think "how lucky!" for those people that have houses right next to a temple site, to look out their window and BOOM, there it is!  And of course we made a quite stop by the cemetery to visit Grandma and Grandpa Adams.

Aunt Charla graciously let us stay the night at her house.  She fed us a full dinner!  Uncle Scott was in Korea so we missed seeing him.
