Doctors Retreat 2010 ~ Sedona

I have to start this one off by saying how EXTREMELY lucky we are to have such a wonderful employer!!

Every year, Southwestern Eye Center puts on a retreat for all the doctors, both optometrists and ophthalmologists, that work for the company. This year it was located in beautiful Sedona, Arizona. We stayed at am AMAZING, luxurious resort and were taken such good care of!We arrived Friday evening, got checked in, changed and went straight to dinner. One of Matt's distant cousins, Scott Sellers, just started working for SWEye in Casa Grande and it was fun to hang out with him and his wife Melissa (they are expecting baby #6 in a couple months!!) while we were there. After dinner, us and the Sellers hit up the movie theater and saw Salt. I'm not usually a fan of action movies, but this one I liked!! On the way back to the resort, we saw a little family of javelinas with cute little babies! It was hard to get a picture as Matt shined his headlights and they hustled across the road. The next morning, we had a delicious breakfast and then were off for the infamous PINK Jeep tour up the mountain! Oh, did I mention that it rained pretty much the ENTIRE time we were there??! Made for an interesting open Jeep ride! The weather made it a *little* difficult to see the beautiful Red Rock country. This is pretty much what we saw at the top....We got to rest a bit after the tour and freshened up for lunch. We had more free time that afternoon so back to the movie theater we went!! Hey, no kids and we didn't have to pay for a sitter!!! This time we saw Inception. Great storyline, but I was exhausted and my brain wasn't in the mood for figuring out the twists and turns.
This doe was munching clover right on the main greenbelt!Matt made me take a picture of this ---- How does one drive exactly 12 1/2 MPH???
After the movie, we changed real quick and went off to dinner. Seriously, FULL OUT meals three times a day!!!! I haven't eaten that much EVER!!! It was great! We were so spoiled!! I love having this opportunity to meet the docs that Matt refers to frequently and mingle with their spouses as well. Doctor Bluth (owner) and his wife are such genuine, caring people really that treat us all like family. I know you don't find that everywhere and we are so grateful that Matt works for such an awesome company. Can't wait to see where we get to stay next year!

Looks like so much fun! I'm totally setting a trip up for Rocky and I before this baby comes. Since we'll have a newborn on our 10 year I'm thinking we should do something fun before. We have never gotten away just the 2 of us before. Sad, I know.

Looks like fun! Stinks that you Pink Jeep ride was in the rain. Did you get to go up any steep mountains with it being so rainy?
