Halloween Festivities

Yep, I'm gonna have to give up on getting good individual shots of the kids in their costumes, darn it! :/ I knew that if I didn't get them before Halloween, it would never happen.

Anyway, obviously since Halloween was on a Sunday, most of our celebrating was done beforehand.

Thursday morning, our preschool group had a little Halloween party and the kids got to dress up in their costumes. It was pretty funny that all four of the boys in the group were dressed up as Star Wars characters!! (Alec Painter-Darth, Gavin-Anakin, Joshua Thornes-Anakin, Carson Carrasco-Yoda)
One of the moms paints faces so she did a bunch of the kids.
At first Gavin didn't want it done, but then he came up and told me he wanted to.All the preschool kids plus a few siblings - a BIG bunch!
Thursday night was the annual pumpkin carving party at grandpa and grandma LeBaron's. We weren't able to get there early enough to go to the patch and pick our own pumpkins so Matt's mom did that for us. The kids helped scoop out the guts and decide on what the face would look like. I'm so lame and didn't even get a picture of the finished products OR them lighted!!
Saturday night was our ward Trunk-or-Treat. We had the traditional chili and cornbread for dinner and the kids got buckets full of candy. We actually decorated our trunk this year with a few lights and handed out glow sticks and candy. The glow sticks were a big hit and we'll for sure make that a tradition!
Preston pretty much had one sucker after the other in his mouth!!!
I felt a smidgen jipped this year because I LOVE taking my kids trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. But we decided we weren't going to take them out on a Sunday, so we headed to grandparents' houses to "trick-or-treat" and show off our costumes instead!
Grandpa & Grandma Palmer'sGrandma Hamilton's, Cody and Joshua at the door.Blurry pic, but here are the kids Skyping with grandpa Hamilton,
who is currently living in California for work.
Once we got home, I did let the kids run next door and trick or treat to our neighbors who were sitting on their porch. ;) Then we handed out candy to those who came knocking (I swear my kids love giving candy more than they do receiving!!), decorated Halloween-shaped sugar cookies and watched "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" while daddy had a fireside to attend.

There were SO many other fun Fall/Halloween things I wanted to with the kids, but we just plain ran out of time!
