"Mom, this looks like a gun!"
Why is this a frequently heard phrase out of my sweet oldest son's mouth??!?!? I've learned that anything, and I mean ANYTHING, can look like a gun- fingers, chicken strips (!!!!), Mega blocks, train tracks, sticks, etc. Someone please tell me this is just some normal boy phase that will pass quickly?? UGH!

It is definitely a boy/male thing.
It is genetic for sure. Most boys like guns. They are loud,aggressive, and over the top....sound familiar? Please don't be alarmed. The flipside is most females hate guns. How would you feel if he was infatuated with barbie dolls?
that is so funny! it is definately a boy thing. i babysit my nephews (5&3) every thursday and they turn everything into a gun too. they are obsessed with star wars and that us where they get the obsession from, i think.
Really your kids have the best sense of humor. ummm I wonder where they get it from.
